FAQ's
Why should an organization choose VHS?
With VHS, the entire package is provided. No need to buy, maintain and upgrade expensive servers, storage devices and networking equipment. The IT infrastructure is provided and managed by AccessFlow. Organization IT staffs are freed up to concentrate on your applications and data necessary for their success. Benefits include: High Availability, Greater Systems Efficiency, Better Performance, Ease of Data Management, Superior Backup Options, Enhanced DR Capabilities, and less labor-intensive server management and testing.
How is performance affected by sharing physical server resources with multiple virtual machines?
Virtualization revolution is powered by the fact that the average peak utilization of X86 servers is typically between 4% - 8%. Particularly when consolidating on new, much more powerful hardware, performance is at least equivalent for a virtual machine, and often faster. Since servers can communicate directly to each other through the virtual switch of the host server, they communicate at the bus speed of the host rather than being constrained to the latency involved in transgressing the Ethernet fabric.
How does AccessFlow guarantee performance?
We currently utilize the latest Intel dual-core servers backed by multiple fiber channel SANs, and we will be moving to quad-core servers in the near future (in a virtual environment, physical servers can be migrated with no disruption to virtual machines simply by VMotioning them to another host – yet another advantage of virtual infrastructure). In a virtual infrastructure we get to aggregate all of our server resources utilizing VMware DRS which VMotions virtual machines among the server fabric based upon resource availability and based upon proximity policies. We ensure that clients receive priority in terms of their guaranteed CPU, memory and I/O parameters and monitor performance continuously.
Who can benefit from VHS?
Almost any business can benefit - both in terms of High Availability and Cost Savings, but especially small businesses that often do not have the IT resources to adequately keep up with the newer technological advances.
What is the cost?
VHS starts at $379 per month for a virtual server with 1GB Memory, 25GB of SAN Storage and 1MB internet access. Email sales@accessflow.com or call 707-745-8585.
